Internet/Intranet Surveys

The HTML Internet Survey option provides an extremely capable and easy method for  administering Internet HTML form surveys. The HTML option includes a single CGI-Script that services all surveys being administered on a web server. The HTML option enables the Survey Creator to create a web survey form that can be administered on any web server capable of running a cgi-script. The Survey Said cgi-script captures respondents information to a file that is then processed by the Survey Analyzer program. The results can be analyzed and graphed or previewed on screen or printed in a camera ready table format.

The JAVA Internet Survey option provides a very controlled yet easy method for administering Internet surveys. The Survey Said Internet Respondent (a JAVA applet) offers far greater control of the administration of an Internet survey than is possible with static or even dynamic multipage cgi driven surveys. The Survey Said Internet Respondent provides optional password protection by requiring an encrypted Survey Access Code for authentication, an optional  Respondent ID, optional multilevel category definition for analysis subsets and a variety of question types. The Survey Said Internet Respondent uses the same cgi script as the HTML Internet  survey option for capturing the respondent's answers on the web server, making it extremely easy to administer both HTML and the JAVA equivalent survey that provides greater control.

Laptop Or Portable PCs

The Survey Said Standalone Respondent can be used to administer surveys in a variety of  environments. One of these environments includes laptop PCs. This option allows a salesperson for example to survey customers, or market researchers to interview respondents on the road or in the  MALL. Wherever your laptop goes, so goes your ability to administer a survey. The Standalone Respondent makes Mobile Laptop Surveys a reality at a very attractive price.

Kiosk and Touch Screens

The Survey Said Standalone respondent or the Network Entry Station can also be tailored to administer Kiosk style surveys, complete with images, custom messages, and a wide variety of question types. The Kiosk option allows a preset timer to be enabled which resets the survey if a  respondent walks away from the survey without completing it. After issuing a time out warning, the survey is reset for the next respondent if no response is received.

The Kiosk survey capability is an excellent way to administer surveys in semi-controlled areas such as waiting areas, bank lobbies, hotel lobbies, government facilities, etc.

Surveys by Diskette

The Surveys by Diskette Option allows surveying respondents by distributing the survey on a  computer diskette. The diskette is mailed to respondents, answered on their PCs and mailed back to the administrator. The mail diskette contains your survey and the Survey Said mail diskette survey  program for answering the survey. It is important to note that; All information stays on the diskette! Nothing gets installed on or transferred to the respondent's system.

The Surveys by Diskette Option supports surveys of up to about 400 questions per survey. This limit is imposed by a diskettes 1.4 MB storage size. The Surveys by Diskette license allows unlimited distribution of the program on diskette. The Surveys by Diskette option requires one of the  core Survey Said packages to create and process the diskettes.

When the Mail Diskette is created, the administrator can set the maximum number of respondents  that can answer the survey on the disk. If the diskette is limited to one respondent, the survey can be retaken at any time with previously saved answers. If the administrator allows multiple respondents  per diskette, the mail diskette program will allow only the number of respondents defined to take the survey and save their answers. The Survey Analyzer wizard suggests the maximum number of  respondents that can answer the diskette based on the survey question types and the amount of free space that remains after all the appropriate files and images are transferred to the diskette.

The Surveys by Diskette Option supports an opening image display or logo, images assigned per question, and a closing message. It also supports all the options that can be set for a survey using the Survey Creator ((i.e. skip patterns, auto advance, comments, question number display option and more). It also allows the respondent to print their answers upon completion of the survey (if enabled by the Survey Administrator).

The Surveys by Diskette option is an excellent value with NO per survey respondent charge. It is a well proven product which has been refined over 8 years and stress tested by hundreds of  thousands of respondents.

Local Area Networks

The PC LAN Respondent option has been replaced by the Survey Said Internet Respondent (Java Applet). The Internet Respondent has several advantages over the PC LAN Respondent including:

  1. Does not require deployment of special software programs

  2. Works over a Local Area Network and Wide Area Network

  3. Multimedia ability including audio as well as images

  4. Works on Network Appliances, UNIX and Macs as well as PCs

  5. Added security for both client and server computer systems

The Network Entry Station (another LAN option) is a networked version of the Survey Respondent program that is used in environments where repetitive surveys are entered on a networked PC. This option is typically used as a survey data entry station that is on a network. Common uses include; entering completed paper surveys, telephone interviewing, sensory panels, trade show surveys when computers are networked. One of the core Survey Said packages is a prerequisite for the Network Entry Station option.

Paper Surveys

Survey Said EE can administer paper based surveys. The paper survey form can be generated directly with Survey Said, or the survey can be exported to a word processor and formatted exactly to your specifications. The answered surveys are then input into the Survey Said database. The Survey Respondent program provides an excellent data entry environment for "keypunch" or heads down data entry.

Scanning Software
The surveys can also be scanned into the Survey Said database using third party OMR scanning products. Marketing Masters highly recommends the Remark product from Principia. The software has been tested by Principia and procedures have been written up specifically for use with  Survey Said by Marketing Masters.
